DEMAND is a small engineering company registered as a charity that makes equipment for disabled people where no off the shelf solution exists.

DEMAND"s work is based on a brilliant idea. Yet like so many brilliant ideas, it is in fact, very simple. It is to bring together medical and community health professionals, and the DEMAND designers and craftsmen, to create special equipment for children and adults with serious disabilities where no other solution exists.

In the UK over 11 million people have disabilities, 16% of the population, and this number is growing.

Large scale requirements for equipment to meet the needs of those with disability is usually met by public and private sectors. One size, however, does not fit all, and equipment that needs to be made or modified to work perfectly for an individual is not something you'll find on the open market.

This is where we step in.

As a charity, we use donations from local communities, companies and trusts and foundations as well as income from our own trading activities to design, make and modify everyday living, sporting and leisure equipment for anyone who has a need that cannot be satisfied by commonly available solutions.
