Mechanical Design Engineer


Location: Cambridgeshire

Salary indication: Experienced design engineer with 10 years relevant experience £25,000 to £40,000

Necessary skills and qualifications

¦Good relevant engineering knowledge, with the ability to discuss all technical aspects of the project
¦Good CAD skills, AutoCad and Inventor
¦Ability to perform accurately engineering calculations
¦Design experience of fabricated structures and machined components
¦Excellent ability to communicate in English, technical matters
¦Must be able to discuss, negotiate and resolve problems
¦Highly organised, with the ability to develop alternative solutions to problems
¦Willing to travel overseas and work in all types of industrial plant, must have UK driving license
¦Keen to share knowledge, to learn and develop new skills
¦Good general computer skills, particularly Excel
¦Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Useful but not essential for all positions

¦Good engineering degree
¦Structural design experience both long hand and using software
¦Knowledge of hydraulic components and systems
¦Some materials handling knowledge
¦Knowledge of Baan or other manufacturing systems
