Our client is a highly successful Hi-Tech business based close to Hungerford in West Berkshire. Continued success means the company seeks a Desktop/Infrastructure Analyst to join the support team. This team is also responsible for the day to day management of the IT Infrastructure, user administration, support of the infrastructure and desktop environments across a number of sites.Knowledge & Experience:Educated to degree level in a Technical subject such as Computer ScienceExperience of IT Infrastructure Server and Desktop technologies and with a proven ability to assess new technologies quickly and efficiently.Experience of networking topologies, qualifications is beneficial;Experience of managing and configuring Active Directory, MS Exchange, virtualisation technologies, telephone systems, firewalls and server configurationUnix/Linux operating system experience useful/Main duties/responsibilities:Providing internal desktop/network support to the employeesResponsible for the operational management of the IT Infrastructure including servers, networks, desktops and telephony systemsResponsible for setting the architecture strategy and direction for corporate ITOwning the Business Continuity strategyWork with management team to define systems policies covering IT, Security, DR and BCReview and liaise with 3rd party suppliers with the purchase of new equipment ensuring that it is fit for purpose and complies with defined policiesWork with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that build documentation is completed and recovery process availableReview existing IT Infrastructure and ensure that it is fit for purpose and meets the business needsShape and define the IT Infrastructure strategies and technical roadmaps building business cases to justify theseAsset and licence management of the IT estateProvide internal support on all aspects of the IT infrastructure and desktop environmentsProvide operational management of the infrastructure including backups, user creation, software rollout and telephony systemsManage the setup and configuration of new PCs, laptops, printers, screens and mobile devicesEnsuring training is in place for all desktop applications so that they are used to their full potentialResearch into new technologies from a desktop perspective to enable the company to be at the forefront of IT
