Ref: 409752 Environmental Fate Specialist Cambridge or Home Based after initial training period £38-42k + 25 days holiday rising to 30 days The Company Our client is the UK's largest provider of environmental consultancy, rural development services and policy advice. Their expertise spans the entire environmental sector together with crop and livestock research, waste contracting and composting business. Purpose of role: Senior member of the team responsible for developing business in higher tier risk assessment approaches to chemical regulatory problems, and managing and delivering such projects •Project manage delivery obligations to commercial and government clients. •Significantly contribute to risk assessment problem solving team, providing innovative solutions to regulatory problems. •Represent internationally and sell ’s risk assessment capabilities to a range of corporate and Government clients, meeting annual sales targets. •Manage a team of risk assessment specialists. •Analyse environmental fate data to derive parameters suitable for both annex 1 and EU Member State modelling requirements. •Carryout PEC calculations for specific EU Member States. •Apply higher tier environmental fate approaches to solve specific regulatory problems. •Advise clients on environmental fate study requirements and oversee their delivery. •Be willing to learn FOCUS modelling approaches. Person Specification Education/qualifications/experience/skills Essential •A higher degree (or equivalent experience) in a numerate scientific discipline e.g. chemistry. •Experience of computer simulation modelling and/or experience in environmental fate and behaviour of chemicals, preferably in a regulatory context. •A good understanding of risk assessment approaches. •Good knowledge of the market for risk assessment approaches with the commercial awareness to understand and respond to evolving needs. •A willingness to work flexibly •Experience managing multi-person projects. •Good verbal and written communication skills. •Good organisational and planning skills. •Good interpersonal and team working skills •Current valid full UK driving licence Please email : XXXXX
