Job Description

We are looking for a Homecare sister Nurse for our client who is under BUPA. Applicant must be;

-Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

•Have enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance

•Have a minimum of 12 months post registration experience including experience in community care

•Are competent in IV skills – ideally central, implanted and peripheral and phlebotomy and cannulation skills

•Receive annual mandatory training in Basic Life Support (BLS), Child Protection, Protection of Vulnerable adults (POVA), Manual Handling, Health and Safety and Anaphylaxis management

•Complete all necessary training, including that around specific therapies, to ensure they are competent and confident in delivering high quality clinical care to patients

•Are accountable for the safe and effective delivery of care and manage a designated caseload of patients

•Escalate concerns and issues appropriately

•Understand how the long term physical, psychological and social impacts of a specific diagnosis and treatment affect an individual patient

•Undertake education and training of patients to allow them to become independently able to manage their medication regime

•Work in partnership with our customers and have commercial awareness

•Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, families and other health care professionals

•Maintain clear and accurate care records including the management of sensitive and confidential information

•Discuss, produce and update individuals care plans with the care team, patient and family

•Maintain confidentiality in line with Data Protection legislation, knowing what information can be disclosed and the process for ensuring this meets Clinical Governance and Information Governance requirements
