Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for a time served mechanical craftsmen The position will be on a staggered dayshift, but may involve shift working as required.
The successful applicant will become part of a safety conscious, established maintenance team, striving to improve the reliability of our process plant at World Class level.
Job Purpose
• Working within a professional maintenance programme to maximise plant reliability
• Team working with other maintenance and operations personnel
• Reacting to plant breakdowns – fault finding and timely repair, reporting of data, and root cause analysis
• Actively participating in a continuous improvement culture, driving towards improving our World Class Manufacturing standards.
Experience / Qualification
• Recognised mechanical craft apprenticeship in an industrial situation
• Experience in general plant fitting: maintenance and welding repairs, fabrication, manual machining, bearing and coupling replacement, fluid couplings, heavy duty gearboxes, electric motor installation and alignment, installation/ relocation of equipment, conveyor maintenance, compressors, pumps, etc.
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance procedures for mechanical plant including weekly inspections, mechanical and hydraulic faultfinding and testing, welding and lubrication
• Computer literacy
Candidates will need to demonstrate good levels of literacy and numeracy, high safety standards, a continuous improvement focus, an understanding of customer needs, and a “can do” attitude.
