Our client are a manufacturing company in the Leicester area and are looking to recruit a production scheduler to join their team MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB • To generate production plans with regards to machine and labour constraints in line with MRP requirements • Ensure all raw materials & resource are available to produce the plan • To liaise with Internal Sales with regards to order progression and re-acknowledgement • Make recommendations for improvements to the MRP whilst ensuring cost targets are adhered to and OTIF is optimised KEY REQUIREMENTS • MRP/ERP planning and scheduling experience • Live scheduling experience – capable of keeping production in line with the issued plans, re-planning as appropriate • Service level focussed – focusing on customer service levels to assure maximum delivery to customer base • MPS consolidations – facilitating improvements in plans and simplifying the MPS to maximise capacity • Experience of TROPOS is desirable but not essential as full training will be given • Experience of other planning/scheduling systems would be advantageous • Previous MPS/purchasing experience desirable • Excellent communicator with cross functional departments • Excellent organisational skills and capable of working to deadlines and prioritising work • Highly motivated • Proactive and positive approach to problem solving • Customer focused • Computer literate, good keyboard skills, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office KEY PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS • On Time in Full – end customers, intersite deliveries, UK and Export • Accurate and timely production schedules to latest agreed deadlines • Achievement of SMART objectives • Valid production and material capacity plans • OTIF at target cost KEY TASKS: MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • To generate and produce daily production plans for specified departments • Timely issue and generation of all production orders • Measure and report on a range of key performance indicators • Be an active part of the scheduling and planning team to achieve OTIF at target cost • To continually improve scheduling and planning processes enable Advance Tapes to achieve its overall strategy of leading customer service in the tape industry • Engage and communicate with key contacts and stakeholders including Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Logistics and Production • Make recommendations for improvements to the process to ensure budgets are adhered to and OTIF is optimised • Continuously seek to improve the processes within the Customer Service department • Ensure all work complies with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and comply with Company health & safety policy. • Any other related duties. • To carry out all the above in line with the Company Culture.
