About The Role
Working Hours: 17.5 hours per week (Part time -job share) and 35 hours per week (full time) available: 70 hours or 140 hours over 28 day/4week rota, including earlies, lates, sleeps, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Additional Payments: Casual car user allowance; 10% flexibility payment

This role is subject to -
• Qualification: Diploma Level 3 in working with Children and Young People in Residential Care or its equivalent; Or willingness to undertake the Diploma Level 3 in working with Children and young people within 6 months of appointment.
• Medical Clearance - Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA)
• Casual Car Documentation- The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
• Driving Licence – The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.
• DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.

This is a role for a full time and part time (job share) Day Residential Child Care Worker to work within a 6 bedded residential children's home. We are looking for people who believe they have the qualities and skills needed to support our children and maintain stability.
• You will need to be emotionally and physically fit to work with young people age 11 - 17 who can be emotionally and physically challenging and have complex needs.
• You will need to be able to establish and maintain relationships with the young people to challenge their existing patterns of behaviour.
• You will create a culture and ethos within the home in which the needs of the young people are paramount, and they are encouraged to develop, mature and grow.
• In addition, you will work proactively with appropriate stakeholders to assess the individual’s needs and ensure positive outcomes.

About the Candidate

• You must hold a full driving licence to drive the homes vehicle and have 12 months experience of working with children, young people, and families.

• Analytical skills, planning and organising, excellent judgment skills, creative skills.
• ICT skills, ability to use multiple applications, systems and associated software packages.
• Administrative skills, ability to arrange and service complex meetings, preparing information, taking detailed notes and produce minutes from a wide range of meetings.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective systems in a rapidly changing environment.
