My client is a waste management business that deals with hazardous waste from their process industry client base. They process and recycle their product to re-sell in to power generation facilities across the UK. This is a newly created role that has arisen to help the business deliver on key objectives such as profitability, efficiency and quality of product through lean processes and continuous improvement methodologies. Reporting into the Operations Manager you will be part of a team that will be required to: • Supervise the efficient and effective processing of incoming waste materials via process machinery in order to produce a marketable product for recycling or disposal. • Maintain quality control of output materials working to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of plant equipment and processes. • Ensure waste process operatives operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with training issued at all times. • Act as first line Manager for Waste Process Operatives and site supervisors, handling disciplinary action with support of HR Manager. • Improve operational processes through lean efficiencies and 5S practices. • Ensure all operations take place within controls and constraints set by Environmental Permit and SWP. The ideal candidate will be an IOSH or NEBOSH holder as well as having a strong Health and Safety awareness on a hazardous site. You must also have experience of working alongside the Environmental Agency to the ISO14001 / 9001 and OSHAS 18001 management systems. This is an ideal position for a supervisor looking to take a next step or an experienced manager wanting a move into a forward thinking expanding business and role.
