A renowned fashion online retailer are looking for a system tester to join their team!

Responsibilities & Duties

Assess requirements, function and design specifications for new software deliverables and provide feedback to authors on testability.
Define test objectives and strategies based on priorities and risks
Provide advice on design of unit tests.
Develop test cases, data and scripts for system tests and User Acceptance Tests, covering functional and other (e.g. performance, scalability) aspects.

Design and build test rigs and networks.
Run and manage system tests.
Support User Acceptance Testing.
Conduct incident/closure reviews.
Produce test reports.
Measure fault rates.
Set and achieve challenging, but realistic, deadlines to deliver high quality solutions
Understand personal day to day targets and those of the team
Demonstrate flexibility and commitment, including work on delegated tasks when necessary and assist others within the company if your help is asked for

You’ll have the below experience

2+ years commercial experience of testing web based and client server applications, including experience of HTML, XML, ASP, .NET and SQL developments
High performance SQL query design and tuning
Automated testing experience
ISEB qualification – Foundation certificate in Software Testing
Experience of building and executing database queries (SQL)
Testing large and complex software applications
Application of structured testing methodologies and techniques to define test strategies
Full knowledge of the Development Life Cycle
Ability to define and produce test strategies, plans, scripts and reports
Demonstrate a clear understanding of Testing models including Black / White box testing (i.e. boundary error checking, prediction of common failures etc).
In-depth knowledge of web architecture and networking
An eye for accuracy & detail with strong analysis and debugging skills
Self-motivated and able to take the initiative
Ability to monitor and report on progress – highlighting risks and issues as appropriate
