First4Skills, one of the UK's largest private work based training providers, has an exciting new opportunity for a Distribution and Warehouse Training Assessor in Croydon/South London. Our Training Assessors deliver work-based Apprenticeships to learners by travelling to their workplace and motivating them to successfully complete their qualification with us. Our Distribution and Warehouse assessors have a passion for the industry and using their supervisory or management experience, pass their skills and knowledge onto learners and developing stars of the future. By recruiting, managing and motivating a caseload of learners, you will drive them to achieve their work based Apprenticeship, while promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young people and children you are responsible for. You must have worked within the industry at a supervisory level within the last two years or hold a AVA, A1 or D32/33 Assessor qualification. You must have a passion for high standards and effective communication, planning and organisational skills. A full clean driving licence is needed for the role as well GCSE Maths or English at grade C or above. Key tasks and responsibilities Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and people you are responsible for or come into contact with as learners Recruit, manage and visit a caseload of learners monthly in line with our brand standards Motivate and drive learners to achieve their work-based qualifications within agreed timescales Support the learning process through flexible learning units, Ask ELLE and facilitating workplace on the job training as required Plan the assessment process with learners and employers – observe, record assessment, feedback and complete all documentation Recruit learners and market First4Skills as appropriate to maintain caseload Ensure learner retention is at acceptable levels Throughout learner qualification, provide information, advice and guidance Maintain paperwork to the required standard Monitor health & safety and equal opportunities within learner workplaces and update relevant documentation accurately Provide learners with all the relevant policies and regulations to clarify what is expected of them and to ensure their safety Live by our First4Skills cultural and brand values Training Assessor Person Specification Essential Criteria Worked at supervisory or management level Worked in the required industry within the last two years IT Literate Effective communication skills Planning and organisational skills Strong administration skills The ability to meet a range of targets Up to date Literacy and Numeracy skills GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent Clean driving licence and access to a car The ability to work in a team and independently The ability to prioritise Self motivated Friendly and approachable Honesty and trustworthiness Presentable and professional The ability to work flexible hours and locations Desirable Criteria Achieved a vocational qualification Delivery of Essential Skills People management experience Adaptable to change Coaching/mentoring skills Experience of working with young adults of mixed abilities Selling skills Hold AVA, A1 or D32 Assessor qualification Relevant Technical Certificate Teaching qualification A level in English, Maths or ICT Assertiveness Enthusiasm Empathy Ability to think on your feet First4Skills actively promotes equality of opportunity.
